Litmaps closes $ 125,000 of Quidnet Ventures start-up investment
SAN FRANCISCO, September 1, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Litmaps, a scientific software company based in Wellington, New Zealand received NZ $ 125,000 in funding from Quidnet Ventures, a New Zealand– venture capital funds with activities in Auckland, New Zealand, San Francisco and new York. Litmaps has built a research navigation platform that enables scientists, engineers, and other experts to navigate peer-reviewed research and patents faster and more deeply, accelerating advancements and enabling them to work more efficiently in R&D teams. The total size of the Litmaps seed series was $ 1 million NZD, and was run by Icehouse Ventures.
Tools like Google Scholar and Scopus allow for basic academic research, but what Litmaps allows experts in the field such as scientists and engineers to dive into their area of expertise and use data visualization tools and network science to understand the full picture: how research is evolving, what they might have been missing, and where breakthroughs and business opportunities might exist.
